“So fear them not, but fear me, if you are believers”

15 Dec

Allah (swt) says in the Qur’an: “So fear them not, but fear Me, if you are believers.” (3:175)

Unfortunately, we have been cultivated in this generation of time that we must fear only Mankind rather than Allah (swt). To the extent that Muslims go out of their ways to make sure that we comply with the man-made laws from fear of facing the consequences, in the mean time we overlook our countless disobedience to Allah (swt) and are heedless as to the punishment in-stored as a result.

Allah (swt) warns us: “O Mankind! Fear you Lord and be dutiful to Him. Verily, the earthquake of the Hour is a terrible thing…” (22:1-2)

This fear towards the Kuffar has resulted in the rise of many Muslims and new organizations neglecting their duties and obligations. Many Muslims are in denial and hide away by the mere mentioning of the word Jihad or Khilafah, as they wish not to offend the disbelievers. Many Muslims fear to attend circles, distribute leaflets and discuss the zulm (oppression) occurring in the Muslim lands. This fear is also seen in the Masajids as the Khaatibs dare not to speak about the wider issues of Jihad or Dawah. Rather we witness these Masajids assisting the Police by reporting Muslims who look ‘suspicious’ (i.e. speaking the Haq) or inviting the local MP’s to deliver a dars to the Muslim community.

The sell out government scholars of today fear from losing their salary or position and without any hesitation give out baatil fatawas against the true Muslims who represent the Messenger (saw) and the companions.Allah’s Messenger (saw) said: “Whoever approaches the ruler’s gate become afflicted. Whenever a slave draws closer to them ruler, he only gains distance from Allah.” (Ahmed)These ‘so called’ Ulema are seen at the doorsteps of the tyrant rulers, engaged in advising the disbelievers for measures to instill fear into the hearts of the true believers.

The oppressive government in their many attempts yet again brings about new proposals and laws to stop the Muslims from rising. From the hundreds of arrests and torture suffered by the true Ulema such as Shaykh Abu Hamza or Shaykh Abu Qatada to the arrests and trial of the recent case of Muslims demonstrating against the cartoons of the Messenger Muhammad (saw), are all attempts to strike fear towards the Muslims.

However, this does not deter away the true fearing Muslims as their Eemaan increases. They remain strong and firm upon the rulings of Allah and with patience they accept the decree of Allah.  Because they know that for every difficult experience in life it will be converted into rewards in the afterlife, as Muhammad (saw) said,

“The amount of reward is in accordance with the amount of suffering. When Allah (SWT) loves some people, He tries them (with affliction). He who then is content (with Allah’s decree) has achieved the acceptance (of Allah), and he who is dissatisfied (with Allah’s decree) will attain the anger (of Allah).” [Tirmidhi]

The true believers who fear only Allah (swt) are the ones who continue to remember Allah with full submission, standing firm on His deen (Islam) waiting patiently for success. They call for the shariah, speak out against the zulm (oppression) in the Muslim lands and remain on the path of the salaf-us-saalih.

We must believe that victory is with Allah (swt), and He (swt) will grant this deen success whether the fake scholars and Mushrikeen like it or not:

Allah (swt) says: “And whoever takes Allah and the Messenger and those who believed as protectors, indeed, the party of Allah will be victorious.” (5:56)

“It is He who has sent the Messenger (Muhammad) with the true guidance and the religion of truth, to make it superior over all other religions, even though Mushrikeen hate.” (9:33)
